Benefit for Using BioDiesel

The benefit for using bioDiesel is described below.

When the air quality is continuously worsen, along with the ecology impact to global warming, raising price of oil, shortage of energy, and the pursuit of lives with convenience and welfare, it is your and my responsibilities for protecting the environment and source in the earth. The green and new energy which is with new role-playing in farming, recyclability, and reduction of waste emission, bioDiesel will be produced in Taiwan.

From the aforementioned, it is known that the product technology applied by the advanced countries, bringing considerable improvements to the environment in the decade. However they are all similar in three types:

  • Type A - fatty acid ester + Diesel oil;
  • Type B – products of fatty acid ester/glycerol/olefin and Diesel oil;
  • Type C – ethyl alcohol + Diesel oil + coupling agent.

There are two things in common. First is that the 500ppm sulfur contents and the aromatic Diesel exists due to it is the major content. Second is that, even though the automobile engines do not need to be changed when using the three types of bioDiesel, the high cost increased is not worthwhile for the waste of small amount reduced. Besides, the NOx is increased. Thus adjustment on catalyst converters is necessary. The Diesel engines have been changed for these reasons in Germany which is troublesome and raise the social cost to a considerable extent.

For the new green energy of Daniel energy technical corp., , the feedstock is from the purification of waste recovery, or organic gas, and a portion of vegetable derivatives. It is compounded, converted, reformed, and blended into environment friendly replacement energy.
The features of the so called “alkyl esterification bioDiesel” are in the following:

  • Good lubricity of engines – 220WSD of bioDiesel better than 460WSD of premium Diesel.
  • When it is at normal condition at the major maintenance, there is no need for modifying engines. It implies it can be used the same way as standard Diesel.
  • Air pollution is 100% improved due to no sulfur and no aromatics contents.
  • All are non-petroleum refinery products. When the crude oil is depleted in the earth, it can still be produced which is inexhaustible.
  • It has many advantages, especially in toxicity reduction.
  • It has good density and calorie value. Density of premium Diesel is 0.83 while that of alkyl esterified bioDiesel is 0.79.
  • It has good dynamic viscosity. The dynamic viscosity of alkyl esterified bioDiesel is suppressed premium Diesel by 20%. Hence it is better lubricity.
  • It has good fuel cetane number. The cetane number of alkyl esterified bioDiesel is higher than premium Diesel by 30%. Hence easier starting and better noise reduction for use of alkyl esterified bioDiesel.
  • The results of engine tests indicate that when using bioDiesel and premium Diesel, the maximum horsepower of the former is reduced by 7.8% and the torque is reduced by 5.8% which is acceptable. The vehicle engines of using alkyl esterified bioDiesel would reduce more obviously on horsepower at the condition of high-speed and high-loading operation. The specific fuel consumption of premium Diesel is 212.7g/bhp-hr while that of alkyl esterified bioDiesel is 212.8g/bhp-hr in average; showing the fuel consumption is almost the same for both types of fuel.
